We did art after big lunch. We mixed lots of colours, like golden yellow and cerise. I made a butterfly. It was very bright. I mixed gold with my other colours. it was the best. I like when we do art in the morning.

Having fun with our fingers
Painting our colour wheelsDAY 2

We painted a big A3 sheet of paper. Then we pretended that we were playing the keyboard with our fingers on the paper so that we made a design on the paper. I really like doing art with Rita Scannell.

DAY 3

We had art yesterday. We made a Starburst Book. Later we put colours on a sheet. We put it down on another picture and we took it off. There were all different colours.

We were sticking a cover onto the starburst book. We were lighting a candle to singe a ribbon. We folded the painting we made.

DAY 1

We have a new art teacher named Rita Scannell. We made a colour wheel. We used yellow, red and blue and we made orange, green and violet. She said that we were the best 3rd& 4th in all the schools she’s been in. She said that we are all great artists.

DAY 2

We had a sheet of paper and we had three colours each. Then we painted the whole page with all the colours on top of each other and we put finger prints all over the page. We got another sheet of paper and painted it in two colours.

DAY 3

Today we cut out hearts and stuck them on squares. Then we made covers for our diaries. Afterwards we got painted paper and we made animal collages. They are beautiful.

Us and our pictures

DAY 4

Today we made two Abstract Colour Compositions. We did one of them with all one colour and we did another with the colours of a painting we got.

DAY 5

Today we made a book out of six different coloured sheets of paper. They were yellow, orange, red, blue, violet and green. When it was finished it looked bright and colourful. With six different colours it shone with a difference. We made it by folding the paper a few times and then glued them all together. It was called the Starburst Book.

DAY 1
DAY 2

Today we were mixing up colours. For example red and yellow makes orange. Then we put our sheet onto someone else’s who had a similar colour to me. I put my picture on his. Later Rita painted a full A3 size sheet of gold. Two people got the sheets and she put the gold on the sheets. Next we got the exact opposite as we did earlier and we put a tint on it. They turned out very nice. By John

DAY 3

On Friday we made covers for our diaries. We used the sheets of paper we coloured in on Tuesday. Then we folded it in half and drew half a heart and we cut it out. Then when we opened it, it was a full heart. I thought what we did was good. Written by Jim.

DAY 4

Today we firstly finished our collages. Soon Mrs. Scannell gave us a photograph between two. They were photos of plants and trees outside in school grounds. We all had to go out and find them. Once we did we all came in and did an Abstract Colour Composition. We all got a magazine and we cut out colours that were the same as in the photo. We all had great fun. Written by Alix.

ARCHIVES

Archives are unique. This means that if a volume, file, map, photograph or disc is lost, Damaged or destroyed there is no replacement and the information it contained is lost forever. Archives are valuable. Archives can give us an idea of what life was like in the past. We learn from the past to improve the present and the future. Archives require care. Because archives are unique we must take care of them so that they will still be available for the future. Archives are original records of continuing value. Records come in many forms such as: Parchment, Paper, bound volumes, maps, plans, photographs, sound recordings, films and electronic records. Her name is Joanne Rockwell. She is an archivist.

The Blackwater Community Quiz.

First Place. Great night.

It was the first ever quiz held in the new secondary school in Lismore. Our school had four teams entered in it. Two from Sixth class and two from fifth class. The enter fee was free, great value eh. And that is not all, we were invited to the cafeteria for chips, sausages and chicken. One of the schools teams went to a tiebreaker and took first place. They were awarded with a trophy. The team was Tom, Evan, Jim and James. It was the best quiz ever.
