Fishy Riddle

Q. What day do fish hate?

A. Friday

My Goldfish

My goldfish is

The Perfect pet,

She isn’t any trouble,

She doesn’t bark.

She doesn’t mew,

Just bubbles

 Bubbles

 Bubbles.

My goldfish is

The perfect pet,

She isn’t any trouble,

We don’t have

To feed her much,

She doesn’t need

A rabbit hutch,

Just bubbles

   Bubbles,

  Bubbles.

12345 once I caught a fish alive

12345 once I caught a fish alive

678910 then I let it go again

Why did you let him go?

Because he bit my finger so

Which finger did he bite?

This little finger on the right.

The children in Mrs. Collins' class have been busy inventing machines...

Super Shopper Sam

Sam the Super Shopper Robot does all your shopping. All you have to do is press the on button and Sam will say ‘What would you like me to get for you today’. Then you type in what you want him to get and he’ll go and get it. You can even make him go to a different country to get something. All you have to do is type in what you want him to get and what country you want him to get it in.

H.D.M. (Homework Doing Machine)

If you want the machine to do your maths homework you write down the sums and place them under the magnifying glass. There is a small camera lens on the magnifying glass which sends a signal up to the sun, which sends another signal back down to the milk cartons.

This sends another signal to the tinfoil tube, which sends one last signal out to the magnifying glass which once again looks at the sum and the answers appear in the bottle.

The Cat

I saw a cat on dad's hat,

I saw him on a mat.

Enrolment Ceremony

2nd class had their Enrolment Ceremony in St. James church Ballinameela on the 29th of February 2004. It started at ten o’clock but they had to be there at ten-to-ten to get ready, and it was over at half ten. They had to bring their baptismal candles. They had to go up to the altar and hold hands in a big circle and say a prayer. Michael, Karen, Mary-Kate and Rae-Anne went to the altar and said a prayer. They were called by name and received their certificate, they had to shake hands with the priest while saying peace be with you. On the certificate was a picture of the child, a picture of a church, picture of the church window and a cross. Father Butler asked them questions and they replied ‘We do’. Their parents had to light their Baptismal candles. Their Communion will be on the 8th May 2004.

Here is a poem written by Michelle in 2nd Class

My Goldfish

I had a goldfish,

His name was Sam,

But he got rolled over

By my sisters pram.

She started to cry

Because I ate her pie,

I started to cry because

She rolled over my goldfish.

My bubbly baby has bubbly eyes,

That is why I called him Bubbly Pie.

I know he is a goldfish

But I love him like a pet

That’s why he goes to the vet.

The Infant class have been learning about...

Fishes

These are our school fish –Flipper and Nemo. Flipper is the larger one with the spots. Nemo has a red cap.

  • We feed or fish once a day with special fish flakes. A little food does them, as over-feeding can kill them.
  • We change the water once every two weeks. It is good to wash the tank with salt and then rinse it out. We leave the water get to room temperature before we pour it into their tank. We don’t want to shock them with very cold water.
  • Flipper and Nemo are friendly fish and they swim around excitedly when the children come in every morning.
  • Teacher takes them home during school holidays

This is Emma’s fish tank. She has 6 fish-2 gold ones,1 black moor, 2 spotty ones and1fancy fish with a red cap.

These are Luke’s fish. One is gold and the other is a black moor. The orange fish is called Nemo and the black one is called Shadow. They eat two goldfish flakes a day. They have an orange tree in their tank.

Louis’ fish are gold and the live in a tank in the kitchen. Louis likes to watch them swim around.

These are Laurence’s fish –Sparky and Crunch. They are very lively and chase each other around the tank.
