I went on holidays

One morning I got out of bed. My mammy said we are going to Australia. We packed our bags. Then we drove up to the airport and we paid. After a while we went on the plane. That night I slept on the plane. In the morning we had our breakfast and we went out to have fresh air. It was beautiful. When we were there the man showed us our house that we were staying in. The next day I went down to the pool and I said mammy “This is Great”.

Favourite Food

We surveyed our class about Favourite Foods. Here are the results.

I WENT ON HOLIDAY TO PARIS

I went on holiday to Paris. It was great fun. The first ride I went on was the Small World. Later I went to the hotel and watched the T.V. I liked the outside of the hotel because it was always lit up. Then that morning I woke up very excited.

6th Class did a quick survey about our favourite days of the week. Most people like Saturday.

I Went on Holidays to Australia

My Mam had money to go on holidays, and all of us agreed on one place, and that was Australia. The next day we were going to Australia. We went in an aeroplane. While we were there I saw a swimming pool. I said ‘Can we go swimming?’ and she said yes.

Our School

In 1957 the current school in Whitechurch was opened. There are currently 109 pupils in the school. Mr. Culloo is the principal of the school and he teaches 5th and 6th classes. Mrs. Collins is the Vice principal and she teaches 3rd and 4th classes. Mrs. Fennell teaches junior and senior infants and Mr. de Búrca teaches 1st and 2nd classes. Mrs. Power is the secretary. Agnes does the cleaning in the school. Last year the school got the green flag. The boys in 6th class won the mini-sevens this year. The 5th and 6th class made their Confirmation on the 23rd of March 2004. 2nd class will be making their communion on the 8th of May. On the 29th of March they made their first holy penance. When the school was opened the 5th and 6th classes remained upstairs in the old school. An extension was built in 1991 so there is a 5th and 6th classroom in the school now. In 2005 another extension will be built onto the school. In around 1906 the old schools in Whitechurch were opened. The old school building was made up of 2 schools a boys school and girls school.

The Community Centre

The community centre has been progressing well since our last presentation. There is now a roof, the walls are nearly finished. They are now putting in the facilities such as toilets and showers and they still have to put in the floor in the hall.

These are pictures from five weeks ago (March 2004).

The Lotto has been very successful since it was set up and has raised a quite a lot of money.
