| June 2004 France 2-1 England On Sunday last England played France in a thrilling Group B opener. England attacked from the start, England were rewarded a free which Beckham sweetly crossed for Frank Lampard who made no mistake in rattling the French net. Play was quiet until the 72nd minute when Rooney made a darting run through an open French defence, which resulted in a penalty. Beckham stepped up and hit a reasonable penalty which brought a classy save from Barthez. After 90 minutes England were cruising. On 91 France got a free outside the box. Zidane scored a goal that will go down in history. A draw looked the likely outcome but a Steven Gerrard error resulted in a penalty which Zidane coolly slotted home. Our Trip to Clonea
The Test It was a normal day and I went to school. But I never knew it was not a normal day. Today was the big day. But we got a test. I did not know what it was about. But then I knew. It was the big test. Karen was sick. She was a lucky duck. But when I was done we got the score. I was very happy. I got 30 out of 30 and I was glad that it was done. by Michelle The little monster There was once a boy called Timothy Hogwash. With a name like Timothy he should have been a very nice little boy. But he wasn’t, he was horrible. He was lazy and naughty and never did anything his Mum told him.You should have seen his bedroom. His toys were all over the place, and his favourite games were to jump on them and break them. Then he’d howl and say "I want a new one". by Rae-Anne School
