Sheep farming

Many farmers keep sheep on the poorer parts of their farms or hills and mountains. Sheep do not require as much care as other farm animals and are able to withstand the cold and wet of winter. However in the spring time when lambs are born the farmer is very busy caring for them especially if the winter is bad. The farmer usually has a good sheepdog to help him to round up the sheep on the hill.

My Dog

His name is Sam. He is a Jack Russell breed. That means that he is a small, cute dog and he is very intelligent too. Sam has two brown ears that pop up and down when he hears a sound. Even if I mention it to Tara that we will get some food he is standing looking at us! We don’t even have to call his name. When he smells food cooking he stands beside the cooker. His tail wags over and back with excitement and it is only two inches long!

My holiday

I went to Spain with my family last year. We went on an aeroplane. It took two hours to get there. Spain is very hot. We had a pool near our apartment. It was very nice to cool off in the pool. There was lots of people on the beach. It was very hard to sleep in the heat. I liked my holiday in Spain.

The San Andreas Fault

The San Andreas Fault is located on the west coast of North America. There are more than 10,000 tremors a year there. Seismologists predict that there will be a major around there before 2020. Still, people build their houses beside the fault in California. There are more than 500,000 earthquakes every year. Of these, only 100,000 are strong enough to be felt.

Horses

Sometimes horses kick you. You can ride horses. There are different kinds of horses. There are panins and mares and stallions. My brother used to go horse riding. I love horses.
