Holy Week

Waterford lost to Galway in the hurling. Ireland lost to Wales in the rugby. This week is called Holy week. It will be Easter Sunday. On Friday it will be good Friday. There will be a raffle in the school. I saw the Waterford match on the television at my house. Today is Monday it is a wet day. It will be Easter in six days. It is raining cats and dogs.

Micheal

In two more days we have holidays. Next week we’ll have Easter eggs. Ireland lost the triple crown. They lost against Wales. After the rugby Wales had a big celebration. Ireland are very disappointed.

My favourite sports person

My favourite sports person is Ellen Whitaker. She is a famous showjumper. She was born on the 5th of March 1986. She lives in Barnsley, south Yorkshire. Ellen is the daughter of Steven Whitaker. She is 18 years old. She is a neice of international riders John and Michael. She has three brothers called Donald, Tom and Joe. Her mum’s name is Carole. She has a bull mastiff called Elsa and a border collie called Patch and a terrier called Sam.Her major achievements over the years are coming third in the Speed Derby with AK Colour of Life. She nearly won the Hickstead Derby on her first attempt, jumping clear in the first round. She was only matched by her uncle John -28 years her senior- riding Hickstead owner Douglas Bunn’s TBx Welsh cob, Buddy Bun. Ellen’s single fence down in the jump-off put her into second place.

BOLDILOCKS

Boldilocks was a horrible little monster, most people called her B-locks. Her hobbies include eating pigs, hunting wolves and torturing bears. Boldilocks had horrible friend called little dreaded riding hood [she liked to be called princess but nobody called her that]. One Monday evening [after having pork chops] decided to go to a bear house. When she got there the bears were waiting for her. They scared her away. She never came back.

Setters

Lwellen Setters and Red Setter

Gordan Setter

There are three type of Setters... Red Setter (Irish Setter) Lwellen Setter (Welsh setter) and Gordan Setter. Setters are gun dogs. Red Setters are red. Lwellen setters are white and have blue and black spots on their coat. Gordan Setters have a black and gold coat. When setters are fully trained they tend to stand still in the direction of their scent.

My family and I went to Dingle last year. It took two and a half hours to get there. When we got there we went and got the keys to our apartment. When we got to our apartment we had dinner. The next morning we went shopping when we where finished we went to see Fungi. We went home the next morning.

THE TERROR OF BUTTER BAY

People say a monster lives in Butter Bay. A boy called Bruce swam in the surf. One day suddenly an arm curled around his waist. The water began to bubble. Poor Bruce was pulled down. The farther he went the more it hurt; he struggled until he was free. Two lifesavers brought him to shore. When his mother bought him a new pair of swimming trunks she put them in his drawer. He has worn them. He is too scared to swim in Butter Bay. He says it is not safe. Would you swim there?

Kangaroos and bandicoots

Bandicoots are marsupials, which live in New Guinea and Australia. They look a little like kangaroos, the smallest being the size of rats while others  are as large  as rabbits. There are many different kinds of  bandicoots, and they have been divided into 3 groups:- the rat-bandicoots, the rabbit-bandicoots, which are great burrowers, and the pig-foted bandicoot. Baby kangaroos stay  in the pouch for about 6 months. I got to feed a kangaroo in Austrailia.

I got this information from an Encyclopedia.

My Favourite Team

About three months ago I got up on a Sunday early, so excited about the match and being nervous about it too. I went with my uncle and my dad we had a great laugh going up in the car and it felt like forever. The crowd in Thurles was amazing and the colours were  radinary. There were lots upon lots of Stradbally supporters walking to the pitch. When the players came out onto the Field the roars from the supporters were totally unbelievable. The start of the match to half-time was really exciting. All the team played well but unfortunately Niall missed some easy chances. Ger scored two points and Stephen scored one point. Half-time score was 0-5 to 0-3 Kilmurry-brickane leading by the two points. I was worrying that they couldn’t do it...

The Sea

Until I saw the sea

I did not know

That wind

Could wrinkle water so.

I never knew

That sun

Could splinter a whole sea of blue.

Nor did I know before,

A sea breathes in and out

Upon a shore.

The Diamond Girls

Dixie, Rochelle, Jude and Martine are the diamond girls! They might sound like a girl band, but these sisters’ lives are anything but glamorous. They’ve moved into a terrible house on a run down estate and after barely five minutes Rochelle’s flirting, Jude’s fighting and Martine’s storming off. Even though Dixie’s the youngest, she’s desperate to fix up the house before mum comes home with her new baby! Will the diamond girls pull together in time for the first diamond boy?

The mean bullies

Slimy Sally is a pain, shes really very mean.

She comes from Strawberry lane, her best friends name is Dean.

One day on their way to school, they saw some useful things.

They ran over to the pool, and then they got a shock when they fell in.

When they got to school everyone started to laugh.

They were the laughing stock of the whole school,

Boy they were embarrassed about that !

FUEL

Fuels are substances that give off heat. Fuels provide our world with the energy we use for heating, cooking, powering ships, cars and machines and producing electricity. People often call them fossil fuels. A kilogram of coal gives nearly three times as much heat as a kilogram of wood. Oil gives us four times as much, and hydrogen gas ten times as much.

Manchester United

Manchester United was set up in 1878 back then they were called Newton Heath LYR. In 1892 their name changed  to Manchester United. In 1968 they won the European Cup. In 1992 Manchester United bought Eric Cantona from Leeds. One year later they became Premiership champions. Next year Alex Ferguson bought Roy Keane for 3.75 million from Nottingham Forrest. They had to wait till 1999 for their second European Cup. Manchester United were very lucky not to lose, they were 1-0 down in injury time against Bayern Munich. Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solsjkear scored. They won the Premiership again in 2000, 2001 and 2003.
