People from Calmark in Cappoquin came to teach us about our Community. They were coming to our classes for 5 weeks. We all got certs at the end.

The School Extension

We are building on a new classroom and a school hall. The building is progressing very well. We hope it will be  finished before September. It is being built by Terry Mc Carthy a local builder. We will be using the hall for drama and indoor PE subjects. Junior and senior infants will be moving into the new classroom. The wall will be knocked between junior and senior and first and second will move into junior and senior room.

We are building a Community Centre in Ballinameela. It is next to the school. It will be finished by the summer. We had to do a lot of fundraising to pay for it. We will be able to play some games in it. It will be also be used for meetings. Outside the hall is a pitch. Ballinameela train in the pitch. I was there a few times. It is very good. The school use the pitch sometimes. We will be able to play football matches there. By Donagh in 2 class.

Drinks Survey

We did  a survey on the schools favourite drinks. Coke is the most popular drink, but it is the most unhealthy one. Water is the most healthiest drink and it only got six votes.

Playhouse

My parents went to Cork last week and bought a playhouse for me and my sisters and brothers. A man is going to bring the playhouse on a lorry and put it in our garden. We are so excited and can’t wait to see it.

SaraJane coloured this. Can you see which one is different?

I'm a speed hailstone, an ice lump.

I'm a clap of thunder, a noisy thump.

I’m a chilly snowflake soft and white.

I’m a ray of sunshine warm and bright.

I’m a falling raindrop, splashing to the ground.

I’m a winter snowball, hard and round.

I got this from a book called Weather Poems
