Meán Fomhar 2005

Thank you for visiting our website. Our names are Richard and David. We are in 6th class, and we are the current editors.

Hi, my name is David. I'll be the editor of the internet from September to Hallowee'n. My favourite sport is hurling. I play for St. Oliver's. My favourite hobby is swimming. I have a West-Highland terrier dog. Her name is Milly. I have a goldfish named Jaws. I also have a cat named duchess. I have other hobbies like horse-riding at Finnisk Valley Riding Centre. At the moment we are building a garage with an upstairs. We are putting a playroom upstairs, and downstairs we are putting in a workplace. We are turning our other playroom into a bedroom.

My Name is Richard. I am 11 years old. I live in Kilgreany Cappagh Co. Waterford. I have two brothers and one sister. I play hurling and football for Saint Olivers, and I do lifesaving in Dungarvan. I also play pitch and putt in Dungarvan. My favourite programme is Lost. There are nine boys in my class and two girls. My favourite food is chicken fahita. My favourite hurler is Eoin Kelly and my favourite footballer is Mattie Forde. I support Liverpool F.C and my favourite soccer player is Steven Gerrard. I hate Manchester United. I am the editor for September and October.

Gardens

The boys and girlss in 3rd & 4th class made "gardens". Mrs. Collins' class made miniature gardens for art class. Some gardens had trees, dogs, Lego people, trampolines, small paths, ponds with crocodiles! The 3rd and 4th class made over 25 gardens all together.  They look really beautiful. We are very proud of them.

Arsenal

My favourite team is Arsenal. They have been in the premiership since 1913. The team they hate the most is Tottenham because back in 1913 Arsenal beat Tottenham to go up into the premiership, and thy have hated each other ever since. Arsenal's best player is Thierry Henry. Ian Wright set Arsenal's all time goal record but Thierry Henry is very close to beating the record with 182 goals.

Kilgreany

I live in Kilgreany Cappagh. There are three houses in Kilgreany, one farm and a quarry. There is also a cave in Kilgreany. I have been there loads of times and it is brilliant. In winter it floods. There have been daggers, razors, pieces of pottery, dice, a skeleton of a mammoth and and a skeleton of an arctic fox found there. And that's everything about Kilgreany.

Here's Emma's version of the same story...

Charlie Bucket

This family was very poor and this is a very happy story in the end. And a very good one. Charlie had a small house and there was one double bed and four people fitted in the bed. They were very lucky. If they didn’t have the bed they would have probably died. That wouldn’t be nice. The old people wouldn’t get out of bed for 20 years. All the tickets were gone but one was left. And Charlie got it. I’m not surprised. I knew he would get it and that he was very happy. That was the happy bit. That was my favourite part of the story. Charlie got the ticket. Uncle Joe was very happy. At the end I don’t know what happens but I hope they will be a rich family and they won’t do any more mistakes in the whole family. I hope they will be very happy especially Charlie.

Ladybirds

My name is Tara. I go to Ladybirds in town. We have it at half six on Tuesdays. We made this last night. We painted it with paint. Then we stuck on little eyes. Siobhan and Carmel are my Ladybird leaders. My mam found a lovely box when I was having my breakfast, and I put it in the box. I brought it to school. The teacher took a photo of it.

FIELD  ARCHERY

In  field Archery the archers have to move around a course shooting at different sized  targets or 3D targets from unknown  distances. The instinctive bows used in  barebow field archery do not have sights or stabilizers so they look more like a traditional bow. A long bow is a type of traditional bow a recurve is a type of traditional bow. There are many types of arrows, bullet point are old age arrows they are very pointed. And some of them have goose feathers and are made of wood. Some arrows are made from aluminium. They are made for compound bows and have rubber feathers.

New extension from the back.

This is our new extension. Terry McCarthy built it. It is lovely. We have 2 new classrooms and a hall. We have a bigger playground too. The playground is very big. We have a new learning support room for Miss Murphy and a kitchen as well. We started the extension in March and we finished it at the end of August.

Michael P.I coloured all the sea-creatures using wax crayons. Then I painted over all the page with water-based paint. The paint did not stick to the wax. Wax is waterproof.
