2nd class have been reading a story about a boy who will eat ONLY custard. Curtis, the cook, is getting fed up. She decided to visit her friend, the witch for advice. BUT then we decided to CHANGE the direction of the story... read on ! The witch One day I heard a knock on the door it was my friend cook. She told me what happened. She had left the magic pot that I had given to her for a loan for cooking loads of custard for Curtis. I told her to chill out. I told her to come in and sit down and I made a cup of tea for her. I told her to watch the match before it was dinnertime. So we sat there watching the match. Waterford were playing Cork. When it was nearly finished Waterford won. I was so happy but then it was dinnertime. She was panicking. I said I had a spare pot especially for her. By Aisling Here's another one... The Witch One day I heard a knock my door. It was my friend Cook. She came over to have dinner. She said Curtis was annoying so she needed a rest from him. She said she had to do all the washing up so he could watch tv. That wasn’t fair. Cook: Will you help me to tell her a lesson? Please help...I don’t know what to do. Witch: Put your thinking cap on. There are lots of ideas. Cook: Well I have no ideas. Witch: Why don’t you say give me a rest? I’m sick of you bossing me around. Cook: OK I will do that. Now lets have dinner... lovely...chips, fish fingers and peas. When they finished dinner Cook said "Thank you very much. Come over on Saturday and we will have dinner." by Emma My Townland My name is Meabh and I live in Abbeyside, Dungarvan. Abbeyside in Irish is Dún na Mainistreach, which means Fort of the Abbey. It is called that because Monks used to live there 500 years ago. There are 3 schools in Abbeyside & over 300 red houses in Abbeyside. A train used to run from Dungarvan to Waterford a long ago. I live in Park Lane and I live beside the railway. It is now a walkway which is now called the track. We have a beach called the White Strand because the sand is very pale. by Meabh Coco the Rabbit I got a rabbit for my birthday. I called my rabbit Coco. I left out my bunny rabbit. I love my bunny rabbit Coco. I can leave out Coco today. My bunny Coco ran away. I didn’t find Coco. I found Coco but Maurice made Coco run away. by Sara-Jane

By Jack My family decided to go travelling around eastern Europe in the summer holidays. My dad knew a man in Poland that worked with him. We were going to meet him there and stay with him for a while. It was very exciting for us. We bought a 90 Mercedes that was going to get us around Europe. We were going to bring my brother's friend too. My mam was not able to go the same time as us so she came and met us in Brussels. We booked a boat to Liverpool and we were getting a trailer tent from my dad's friend. We were going to stay with him for a few days. We were going to Dublin to get the boat this morning. We got up really early to go. We got on the boat and st 6 o'clock we arrived in Liverpool. This was just the start of our travelling. We met Rattlas at the harbour and we went back to his house. We stayed with Rattlas for four days. We got the trailer-tent and went on to London. We stayed with Dan in London. We met uncle Mickey and my dads friend there. We got up this morning and drove to Dover to get the boat to Calais in France. We went to a really nice camping site. We met a man called Ruen he was a busker. He had this bike that Mickey Shane and me fell off. My Dad went in the bucket of it to go shopping. It was really funny. We had a great time with Ruen. Unfortunately we had to leave Ruen and go to the other camping site...... by Ellen... to be continued in November.... check here These are words the 1st & 2nd class are learning that end with "ink"...
Houses and Homes
We were
learning about homes and houses. Houses can be made of mud. Houses can be
made of bricks. They could be made of snow and ice. They are called
igloos. They can be made out of sand or cement, or wood or grass or straw.
Caravans are made of metal. If a house is on its own it is called
detached. A flat is a part of a house. If there are two houses joined
together they are called semi-detached.
Conor has a
detached house.
Caoimhe`s is
semi-detached.
Ailbhe`s is

Clodagh`s is

Tara`s is

Sarah’s is

Megan’s is

Jade’s is

Louis is

Kate’s is

You can get
really big houses that are called mansions. A king or Queen lives in a
palace. A house is just a place to live but the people in the house make
it special. It is their home. ``HOME,SWEET HOME ``

live up the road from Ballinamintra caves. My townland is Ballinacourty,
Cappagh. There are lots of caves there, but in one of them archaeologists
have found three bodies from the Famine. They found a mother a father and
a child. They have also found a skeleton in the caves from the ice-age.
They called him the ___________. There is also a Fulacht Fhia in our Bog.
A Fulacht Fhia was a place where the Celts cooked. It was a big hole dug
in the ground. There were boiling rocks in it. The rocks made the water
boil and then they threw the meat in. By Fiona Click on any picture to enlarge... if you do not have broadband these will be slow.
