Thank you for visiting our website. Our names are Joseph and Aaron. We are in 6th class, and we are the current editors.

Neddy

My pet is a small brown donkey. His name is Neddy. I helped my brothers to build a shed for him. He likes to eat carrots and nuts. I give him fresh water every day. Sometimes my brother puts a rope around him and I sit on his back and he walks around the field. He plays with my space hopper. He picks it up in his mouth and throws it around the field. He is very friendly and he is the best pet ever.     By Kevin

On Friday we are having a science exhibition. Our group is making Paper Helicopters. We cut out templates created the helicopter. There is a small, medium and large Helicopters. I think the medium size helicopter is the best because the small helicopter does not spin without weights and when you add weights to the large helicopter does not change if you add weights to it. I think that the medium size helicopter is the best for experimenting.

We were doing a science experiment called The Acrobatic Clown Which is all about Balance and The Centre of Gravity keeps it from falling and the two coins are to pull it down to the ground but our finger held it up and we even got it to balance on a pin!

We really enjoyed making the clowns and we had to make LOADS of posters for the exhibition. The exhibition is on Friday in our school. All are welcome.

Sound

We were learning about hearing sounds. The teacher asked us to bring in straws, clingfilm, a saucepan, rice, a biscuit tin, a spoon and a balloon. Nearly everybody was able to bring in all these things.

The first experiment was with the clingfilm. We put it around a plastic bowl. We put a rubber band around it. Some of us put sellotape also. Then we put some rice on top of the clingfilm. We banged a spoon against the saucepan. We were trying to make the rice bounce on the clingfilm. But it didn’t bounce because the clingfilm was not tight enough.

We blew up a balloon. We held the top of the balloon with 4 fingers, two fingers on our left hand and two fingers on our right hand. We stretched the top of the balloon. There was a sound coming out. It sounded like a mouse. Then we tried putting the balloon to our ears. Another person was talking at the other side of the balloon. We could hear it very loud. The sound was going through the balloon. We need air to make the sounds.

The next experiment was about straws. We had to flatten the bottom of the straw. Then we cut it diagonally on the left side and the right side to make a point. Then we blew through it very hard. It made a very funny sound. We tried it with different size straws and the sound was different each time. We had a really short one that didn’t work.

By 1st & 2nd class.

Bats

I have two pets. They are both dogs. They are both sheepdogs. One is a girl and one is a boy. Their names are Rex and sally. Sally is four years old. Rex is about a year and a half. Rex is all black with white paws and Sally is black and white all over. Sally wears a muzzle. They both like to play football. They are friendly. Sometimes they eat the grass because feel sick. Sally got sick. They both sleep in the same house. They eat table scraps like chicken, bread, spuds and stuff like that.

None of them like dog food. If Sally doesn’t like the food we give her she covers it up with straw. They both like to dig up the grass. Rex will eat anything. He likes the tractor. If he’s inside and the tractor starts he starts barking. They both like to go down the road but they always come back. They are both really good friends.
